HOW TO CLEAN YOUR FRESH TRUFFLES

If you buy from us, we do most of the work for you. Our truffles have already gone through an extensive cleaning process. Legally, we cannot import soil from another country, so we have to ensure that our truffles meet the requirements. Additionally, we do not want any bacteria on our truffles when we personally store them in our production plants, nor do we want to pass on that bacteria to you!

When you receive our truffles, we encourage an additional cleaning to ensure that is at its best quality after transport. Please follow the steps below: 

1. Turn on your faucet to a gentle stream. 
2. Grab a toothbrush* 
3. Hold your truffle under the stream of water, and using your toothbrush, gently scrub the exterior of the truffle.
4. Remove the truffle from water and immediately dry it with paper towels. 
5. Proceed to proper storage techniques here.

*We recommend a soft bristle toothbrush or nail brush. You can use an old toothbrush that has been thoroughly cleaned in the dishwasher or buy a new one specifically for truffle cleaning. Please make sure to clean the toothbrush after use.
