Exciting News on our Earth Day Initiatives:
When your family’s livelihood comes directly from the Earth, it’s important to make sure it’s there for future generations. That philosophy has been at the heart of Sabatino Tartufi from the very beginning. We have been blessed with lands of unnatural beauty and bounty, but we are always taking steps to make sure we can continue sharing the fruits of our estates with the world.
WE’RE PLANTING TREES!
We want to connect our loyal customers more closely to the land where our truffles are grown.
Starting now, with each new order placed on SabatinoTruffles.com, we will plant 1 new tree in one of our truffieres, the truffle orchards where we harvest our Black Winter and Summer truffles season after season.
With every new order you will not only be able to enjoy our amazingly flavorful truffles and truffle products, but you’ll be able to enjoy them knowing you are positively contributing to the environment and directly to the ecosystem responsible for the products you are enjoying. Soon towering oak and poplar trees will help filter the air near our Italian truffle facility and contribute more oxygen to the atmosphere.
REDUCING WASTE
Besides planting new trees on an ongoing basis, we have focused on reducing and eliminating excess waste throughout our entire supply chain including within our facilities both in Montecastrilli, Italy and West Haven, CT. We are proud to operate both facilities with zero waste in our fresh truffle operations. Any remaining fresh truffles are frozen and preserved for future use.
BETTER PACKAGING
Packaging is one of the leading areas of pollution globally. At Sabatino, we have focused on limiting excess packaging and are committed to using recyclable and biodegradable options on all of our Sabatino Truffle products. We are committed to removing all non-renewable or non-recyclable packaging from our brand and products by 2024. This includes removing all use of styrofoam/polystyrene in our packages by 2024.
PROUDLY MADE IN THE U.S.A
While Sabatino Truffles is proud of its 110-plus year history, we are also proud of our ability to innovate and adapt quickly, which has helped us become the global leader in the truffle industry. One of the biggest steps we have taken over the last few decades was the choice to establish a manufacturing and distribution facility in the United States. Our presence in the United States has helped us reduce our carbon footprint by reducing the amount of greenhouse gas emissions in our supply chain. With a physical footprint in the U.S. we are able to manufacture and ship more of our products locally without the use of excessive shipping.
LET’S KEEP GOING
Never satisfied with the status quo, we at Sabatino aim to go farther by continuously evaluating new opportunities and leveraging developing technology to become a greener, more environmentally-conscious company to ensure we are doing everything we can to secure a safer, more sustainable future.
If you have any suggestions as to how we can continue to be better please let us know. We love our planet and want to be kind to it, always. Send a note to customer@sabatinostore.com
